Celebs Who Gave Up Fame To Work Regular Jobs

Celebrity life is very attractive to many people. This is as a result of attention and recognition that come with this lifestyle.

Most people would do anything possible to attain this status. However, there are those people who do not like being the center of attention for a long period of time. There have been several cases where well known celebrities have left this attractive life of celebrity status to live normal lives and take up conventional jobs.

These include:

1. Geena Davis – Social Activist

She left acting to set up Gender Institute of Gender Media with the sole intention of increasing the number of women in the media.

She, however, made a comeback in Grey’s anatomy in 2014 and later the Exorcist in 2016. However, her main point of concentration still remains to be activism.

2. Kevin Jonas – Entrepreneur

Kevin, formerly of the Jonas Band started contracting a year after the band split. He was also a partner C.E.O of a marketing company during the same period.

He made a partnership agreement with well known website for an application for sharing of videos. So in simple terms, he went to explore the world of entrepreneurship.

3. Nikki Blonsky – Cosmetology

She acted in the film known as Hairspray and was later part of the cast in a series, Huge. It is after these stints that she left Hollywood and was employed at a store selling shoes in New York.

She later studied a course in cosmetology after which she secured a job at a hair salon. She made a return to acting in Smash in 2013 and Dog Years in 2017.

4. Gene Hackman – Writer

Saying that Gene Hackman did not have a successful acting career would be a lie. Factually, he was had a very successful career and won several awards until he retired in 2004.

He then went ahead to author 3 history novels. He did this with the assistance of Daniel Lenihan, a renowned archaeologist.

5. Vanilla Ice – House Renovator

Ice Ice Baby is a single by Vanilla Ice that ranked high in the charts in 1990. Struggling with private issues forced him to begin buying houses, renovating them and then selling them at a profit.

He renovated houses in a reality TV program known as The Vanilla Ice Project and authored a guide on how to succeed in flipping homes in the process.

6. Hayden Christensen – Farmer

He has lately been seen coming back to the entertainment scene having started his own production house and acting a film called First Kill in 2017.

He had previously refused to take offers given to him after the success of Star Wars. He instead preferred to buy land in Ontario, Canada where he practiced farming. He also set up a clothing company.

7. Chris Owen – Photographer

The 1990s as well as early 2000s came with very performance from Chris Owen. He is well known for the part he played as the Sherminator in the American pie.

Things later became hard for him in the film industry and there were reports indicating that he was seen working as a waiter in a restaurant. He later quit to become a photographer.
