Despite the fact that Mel Gibson, Steven Spielberg, and Michael Jordan were each involved in divorce settlements that cost $100 million or more, they are not even close to the most expensive divorce settlements of all time.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are estimated to have a collective wealth of $400 million and their divorce settlement won’t even come close to the colossal splits below.

Dmitry and Elena Rybolovlev: $604 Million

In 2014, a Swiss court ruled that The Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev owed $4.5 billion in divorce settlements to his ex-wife Elena. After an appeal, however, he ended up paying her $604 million and two Swiss chalets in the divorce settlement.

Talk about dodging a bullet worth millions, he should be grateful and thank the lord for the appeal court system.

Adnan and Soraya Khashoggi: $874 Million

Soraya Khashoggi was, without doubt, one of the most beautiful women in her generation and she ran in social circles with Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Sinatra. She was even romantically linked to a few British parliament members and Warren Beatty.

She married Saudi Arabian businessman Adnan Khashoggi and their divorce settlement totaled $874 million. In today’s economy, it is an equivalent of about $2.2 billion.

Harold and Sue Ann Hamm: $1 Billion

Harold Hamm, the Oklahoma oil and gas executive, wrote a $974.8 million check to his former wife Ann Hamm in order to finalize their divorce. Including other payments and exchange of assets, the total divorce cost was estimated at around $1 billion.

Ann Hamm did not, however, cash the check immediately but rather appealed to receive more money. She lost the appeal but talk about wanting to suck someone dry.

Steve and Elaine Wynn: $1 Billion

Steve and Elaine Wynn are two casino industry bigwigs that have been divorced not once but twice in 1986 and 2010. The exact divorce settlement terms have not been released, but Elaine Wynn’s portion was $1 billion.

In an interview back in 2010, Steve Wynn agreed that it was one of the most expensive divorce settlements of all time.

Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone: $1.2 Billion

In 2008, the family fortune of Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone was estimated to be around 2.4 billion pounds when she filed for a divorce. The 6’2” former model Slavica reportedly received about $1.2 billion from her 5’4” husband Bernie Ecclestone in the divorce settlement.

In 2014, it was revealed that Bernie received $500 million from his ex-wife’s trust fund which was apparently arranged more than ten years before the two got divorced.

Rupert Murdoch and Anna Maria Torv: $1.7 Billion

It has been reported that the second wife of Rupert Murdoch, Anna Torv received $1.7 billion in their divorce settlement. The amount was paid mostly in News Corp stock. Ruper Murdoch, however, went ahead to get married 17 days after his divorce to Wendi Deng and the two got divorced 14 years later which a significantly less divorce settlement.

Earlier in 2016, he went on to marry Jerry Hall the former model and longtime partner of Mike Jagger the rock legend.

Alec and Jocelyn Wildenstein: $2.5 Billion

The New York socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein managed to get a divorce settlement of $2.5 billion from the family fortune of Alec Wildenstein in 1999 when they got divorced. She also received for 13 years, $100 million per year in addition to her main settlement.

She has spent millions over the years in plastic surgery and even got the nickname “Catwoman” because of the way her face has been transformed through surgery.
